Week 9

This week I spoke to a lot of people, and found some reference. Theres a scene in a series of 13 reasons that talks about how 'we on only put up suicide posters when someone commits suicide'. Why is it that we only put up things up when something bad happens? I spoke to a person who is in the ministry of health about the youth that come through there facility, the issue was that there is a very low percentage of pacific people coming through which is problematic due to the amount of pacific suicide that go on through each year.

This week I am working on the dossier and the work that goes in the dossier. What is important and the techniques of a good dossier. I am still writing my proposal and still exploring the influences of suicide and how design is lacking in the field of health ministry. NZ suicide stats is getting worse and worse each year and NZ as a whole has the problem of keeping silence when there is suicide in the family or community. Especially pacific/ Maori families, when someone passes to suicide, they are ashamed of the situation and try everything to hide the truth. The 'pacific' theory is that if it is not talked about then it probably does not exist. This has been an unconscious situation that has been going for generations and it has not changed ever. "the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting a different result".
