Week 8

This week we looked into how we might want to approach our project in the dossier and the layout of the dossier. I talked to Lee Jensen about my project and how I could approach. He had given me really good direction to look at and for me to do more research. I had looked at family disconnection and acceptance of the new era by the old pacific/maori tradition and also the christianity faith. People find it hard to accept change and want to withhold what they believe in and what they know.

Lee suggested designing a story or an illustrated book. Suicide is kinda heavy and it  is about finding that gap which I could use to approach the topic a different way. Accepting that the whole process of suicide and to solve this issue is complicated. Even raising more awareness is difficult due to the law of the media. The whole issue is complicated.

The next step is maybe designing a series of posters or whatever. maybe a book, but also looking out to how other countries deal with the issue of suicide, depression, and mental health.

Lacking is more recognition, need more pacific and maori workers in the facility.

Acknowledge normal and goes through a mental state.
